How do you define being in great shape? My definition is not only be strong with weights, but is able to run some miles and be good with body weight exercises. And if you can run forever, but is not strong? As the guy who does 150kg bench press, but is not able to do ten uprights? You can get in his prime doing weight training and dietary leaving a strategy with low body fat, but to die doing simple exercises outdoors is a shame! The aim of the exercise is not only beautiful to stay, but be functionally appropriate. Let’s talk about this in more detail, but first let’s look at a current record holder of the Decathlon.
[Roman Sebrle of the Czech Republic holds the title of "most" of the sporting world, five of the last seven years. Competitors in the Decathlon is the ultimate example of being "functionally adequate".]
I am convinced that the race is the most feared exercise. The irony is that the race is one of the most effective ways to burn body fat and get in a surprising way, see 400 runners, 200 and 100metres dash. It’s simple, is basically free, but certainly is not pleasant … first. By the time your body will adapt and become comfortable. There are so many alternative forms of cardio, but the race is the most secure and simple (not going into technical details such as race and passed to be really be something “secure”). The other advantage to be proficient in running is that almost every sport or competition incorporates some form of race.
Many experts in the race Avoid lifting weights
On the other hand, you will see people run at an amazing pace on a treadmill for 60-90 minutes and barely sweat. The problem here is that they run without much strength training, not showing any amount of muscle throughout the body. They also are typically weaker when it comes to lifting and throwing objects. This is the other side of the spectrum and creates a physical imbalance also is not atoa that is one reason so many runners are injured and in pain!
Giants style bodybuilders
People at the gym, with so-called “impressive muscles” are usually from another dimension when it comes to getting in shape. They usually have part of the equation of force as well, but is lacking in the department of cardio. Many of these men and women are terrible at body weight exercises as well. How many guys with 100kg of muscle bar you see yourself doing? Some of the really big guys can barely walk at a normal pace. I’m betting most people in this category would have a difficult time to run a 5 km without stopping. Most of us are not in great shape
I really believe that most of us have some work to do before we can claim to be in great shape. I like to divide the overall fitness in three categories.
Cardio: Being able to perform various forms of cardio exercise (running, cycling, rowing etc.) at a rate of moderate to moderately fast for an extended period of time.
Brute force: How much weight you can lift in power lifting
Body weight: Being able to move your own body weight around for several years (horizontal bar, parallel, push-ups, etc.).
Where you need to focus?
For me personally … I have the brute force in good shape, body strength but I’m relatively well greatly improve my cardio and I think that is what the three is worse. I would say that most people in most gyms are in poor body strength and cardio. I do not care how much someone makes a noise when they’re doing a heavy leg press … that’s nothing compared to a good time 400-meter dash, or a heavy dead lift! Compared with the intense cardio is really heavy!.
Some goals for you
Only in my head, I’ll make a list of what I believe a decent person should be able to accomplish. Some of the things on this list may seem extremely easy, but for others it will be hard … really depends on the areas that need development. The amazing thing is not being able to make an easy point of reference … is the ability to be able to meet or exceed each of them.
A mile, men should strive to be able to do it in less than 6.5 minutes, women should strive to less than 8 minutes.
Bar Fixed: Men must do 12 or more, women should be able to make eight or more.
Bench Press: Men should be able to make the weight for 10 + reps, women should try to do 2 / 3 of their weight for 10 + reps.
Neck flexion: Men should be able to do 50 + without stopping, women should aim for 25 + non-stop.
Development: Men should aim to half its weight to 15 + reps, women should look for one third of its weight to 15 + reps.
Boards: men and women should be able to hold the board in a standard three minutes straight
Distance Running: Men should be able to run for 8 miles without stop or slow down for a walk, women should be able to go 10 miles.
Like I said, these are just some ideas of my head … I may err in some estimates here. It just gives you a general idea of what I think a person should be able to. Obviously age comes into play here as well … I would not expect a man 60 years + to hit all these numbers, although it is possible.
Be in great shape and get a good look for free!
The great thing about being in a big way, is that it creates an aesthetically pleasing body. Most people who exercise are too focused on weight lifting, in my opinion, or race. It’s part of why there are so many people too bulky undefined although not bodybuilders or too skinny! . I’m not impressed with these types of physical, because they are very ineffective in real-world situations. “Lean” is the look that is created by all is why the military, SWAT teams, police have against the bodybuilders that look. Make no mistake about it … be in great shape everything and everything in your body will repay you, and you know where to focus and how your body reacts.
